The Kenya Power Company and Paul Tergat Foundation have announced a one-year partnership to support the foundation’s projects.

The 12-month programme is meant to support the foundation’s activities which include encouraging the culture of running for health and leisure as well as tapping and nurturing sports talent in the country.

Kenya Power will also back the projects  associated with the National Olympics Committee of Kenya President Paul Tergat such as the annual Safaricom Sports Personality of the Year Awards (Soya).

Kenya Power managing director Ken Tarus also went ahead to put across  the importance of partnerships in nurturing sports talent.

“Kenya Power sets aside one per cent of its profit after tax to support its corporate social responsibility projects. Some of the projects under this include the company encouraging Kenyans to take up sports as a way of promoting good health and a good lifestyle,” said Tarus at Thursday’s ceremony.
