Kenya Power has started replacing customer account numbers with new ones as the power company introduces a new customer management system.

The account numbers will now be issued until Monday 4 pm for customers in the Nairobi region where the system upgrade will be introduced first.

It will notify customers of their new account numbers through an SMS.

“To enhance customer service delivery, Kenya Power will be upgrading the customer management system,” said the power distributor in a public notice.

The new system will now make it possible for customers to read their metres, generate their bill and pay from the comfort of their respective places of operation.

This will mean that Kenya Power metre readers will no longer be visiting homes and that there will be no manual bills sent to customers going forward.
