Electricity supplier Kenya Power is warning of fraudsters posing as their staff and soliciting money from customers.

In a public notice on Tuesday, the power distributor said, ”It has come to our attention that fraudsters posing as Kenya Power staff/agents are demanding/ soliciting money from unsuspecting customers and members of the public for electricity connection, purchase of tokens and payment of bills.”

Kenya Power told its customers that all payments are made at their banking halls and authorised agents.

“We wish to inform our esteemed customers that all payments to the Company should be made at our banking halls or authorised agents.”

“All payments must be issued with a legal receipt. Mobile payments are through the official playbill number, no payment should be made to a personal number,” said Kenya Power on twitter.
