The Kenya Prisons Service is seeking to recruit over prison warders.

The nationwide exercise will is scheduled for April 27, and will be conducted in various centres across the nation.

Interested candidates according to an advert place on the KPS website interested candidates should carry their original Identity Card, a birth certificate, Kenya Revenue Authority PIN certificate, academic certificates and other testimonials on the day of recruitment.

The prospect candidates must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28 and should be physically and medically fit.

Female candidates must not be pregnant.

A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education certificate with minimum grade of D+ or an equivalent is also mandatory.

Successful candidates will undergo an intensive government sponsored paramilitary training for not less than nine months before being released into service.

According to the online advertisement, the process is free of charge and corruption malpractices are unlawful.

This comes in less than two weeks after the police service recruited 10,000 officers.
