The Kenya Railways Corporation on Friday announced positions of train ticket attendants to work on a temporary basis in Nairobi County.
In the advertisement, the state agency corporation stated that applicants who are interested and are qualified should attach their certificates, a copy of the national identity card, and certificate of good conduct on their applications which should be addressed to the managing director.
“Kenya Railways urgently requires engaging the services of train ticket examiners and ticket clerks to work on the Nairobi commuter service on a temporary basis.”
“The job entails selling train tickets to the passengers, motor vehicle parking tickets, collecting revenue and reconciling remittances against tickets sold. In addition, the job will require handling customer concerns in the train,” read part of the advertisement at its website and newspaper dailies.
However, the corporation has not come out clearly to indicate how many vacant positions are available for the ticket attendant job.
This comes barely a few days after the agency advertised the positions of senior managers after they were sent packing.Recently Kenya Railways introduced parking fees for all vehicles at the SGR stations whereby before the drivers were allowed to park their vehicles at the station parking for free.
