[Photo|Kiraitu Murungi]Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, his Deputy Titus Ntuchiu, Health CeC Eunice Kobia and Chief of Staff Gideon Kimathi, hosted a delegation from the Kenya Red Cross Society at the County Headquarters.The delegation led by Central Region Coordinator Gitonga Mugambi was delivering 87 cartons of assorted drugs comprising of drips, antibiotics, antiseptics and ORS.The team donated to the County government of Meru to help supplement existing supplies being used to battle diarrhoeal illnesses being witnessed in parts of the county.Kiraitu and his team released details of a partnership between the Kenya Red Cross that will see the organisation handle all emergencies and disasters in the county - mainly fire, famine and flooding - in partnership with the County Government."The partnership, to be officially signed in the coming weeks, will foster faster response to emergencies in the county, with plans to allocate land to the Kenya Red Cross for the establishment of a base in Meru also mooted," said Kiraitu on Wednesday.Also present was Meru County Commissioner Mr Wilfred Nyagwanga.
