Through its Secretary General Abbas Gullet, the humanitarian organization on Friday dismissed claims that they were reading on a similar script with the government in terms of giving the real statistics regarding all those affected by the drought.

"There are inaccurate statistics regarding the situation and its effects, especially from the government. Something must urgently be done," He said. Gullet further as said they were somehow in agreement with the national government concerning the weighty of the issue since it had earlier declared drought a national disaster in February 2017 and was yet to declare otherwise.

"This situation has really worsened with the visibly stressed rainfall in the recent months and this is why we are now raising the issue again to fore. With regard to this one, we are not reading from a different script," Gullet added.

This comes at a time when the government through the devolution ministry has announced that not a single life had been lost as a result of the natural calamity.
