The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) has called for an urgent appeal, over the ongoing drought.
The Society has urged able Kenyans, donors and well-wishers, to help provide food to the starving families, in the 23 most affected Counties.
Under the slogan 'We Are All Kenyans', secretary general Abbas Gullet said: "More than 2 million Kenyans facing starvation and the figure may rise if we do not act now. No Kenyan should sleep hungry.''
"Let us donate today and support our brothers and sisters suffering due to the ongoing drought. Kenya Red Cross urgently appeals to Kenyans to support the ongoing drought,'' he added.
KRSC classified 11 Counties as those in the alert phase of the drought, while 12 in the alarm phase.
"It is expected some will slide into Emergency Phase within February,'' said Gullet, Friday.
The organisation said anyone could send their donations as money through mobile payment systems, such as MPesa, Airtel Money and Equitel.
Gullet was addressing stakeholders during the launch of the campaign, at a Nairobi hotel.
