Tom Amollo, Political and Diplomatic Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said Kenya is seeking to strengthen its ties with Oman.Amollo said the Oman government has been instrumental in ensuring Kenya embraces the Omanis, a move he says aims at boosting the two nations’ economy.“Oman and Kenya are one and the same thing, if we strengthen the unity, we will overcome all the economic challenges and make strides in every aspect,” said Amollo.Amollo was speaking during an event to mark Oman’s 47th national day at a Nairobi hotel on Tuesday.Amollo assured Omanis that Kenya was working towards solving the political standoff that is being witnessed in the country, adding that peace would prevail.He said there was no cause for alarm as Kenya is now beginning to move forward.Amollo expressed his deep gratitude to the Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said Al-Said for his active role and architect of the modern renaissance of Oman.He praised the Sultan for fostering the values of justice and equity which have gained the admiration of the whole world.On his part, Oman Ambassador to Kenya Saleh Suleiman Al-Harthi said Oman will closely work with Kenya with an aim of uplifting the economy, trade and culture in the two countries.
