Economically, Kenya is ranked among the wealthiest country boasting of valuable mineral reserves from gold to diamond. Culturally, Kenya is known to be very diverse with over 42 tribes practicing different traditions.
Historically, it is the cradle of mankind. Socially, it is home to more than 40 million people living in harmony with each other. This description of the darkest country in the world seems far-fetched as we have been made to believe but they are incontestable facts on the ground.
Kenya wealth has been both a blessing and a curse. A blessing to the rest of the world but a curse to its own people. This is because Kenya did not recognize its potential wealth till it was taken away from it.
When Britain and other super powers were experiencing trade deficit in the international market, they turned to Kenya to redeem their fortune. As the country boasted of valuable natural resources both living and non-living, it made a great target for a good payday that has turned to be a good pay for centuries.
We have not been this educated and exposed to make the same mistakes our fore fathers made. We can choose to rewrite history or relive history. It is now in the hands of this generation to change the narrative. To lift Kenya from begging the world on its knees to ruling the world standing on its feet. It will require us to spread our wings and fly.
To have an eagles view of the continent from the sky. Only then will we realize our full potential and protect our wealth for the greater good of our future. A future that will have Kenya being called the greatest not as a debatable opinion but an established fact. Our greatness is a silent truth known by the world but hidden from us. Now that we know it, ignorance will not stand as our defense anymore. It’s time to till our land and secure a future for us and generations to come.
