The Ethics committee of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) is in the country in efforts to conduct further probe against three suspended former Athletics Kenya officials.
Sources indicate that the sleuths led by the board's legal secretary Jana Sadler Forster have been camping in the country for over a month now to piece up evidence against the suspended trio before issuing a final verdict.
"The ethics board officials have conducted the investigations and hearings discreetly in Nairobi and Eldoret starting last year. They have had some undercover investigations in the country. They are focussing mainly on the alleged doping and financial scandals involving the officials," the source said.
The suspended trio comprising former Athletics Kenya President Isaiah Kiplagat (now deceased) his deputy David Okeyo and former treasurer Joseph Kinyua were accused of among other things subverting doping processes in the country by the World Anti Doping Agency (Wada) in November 2015 and were consequently eliminated by the IAAF Ethics Board.
The Board would later suspend AK CEO Isaac Mwangi three months later over the same allegations and appointed renowned judge Sharad Rao to oversee the probes and file a report on the same.
Rao has since indicated that he has completed his investigations and submitted his recommendations to the board.
