The match will be played at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos County Sunday afternoon with the return leg slated for between April 20, and April 22, 2018, in Rwanda.

The team has been in camp in Nairobi for one month, ahead of the first-round tie. The team is being led by Stanly Okumbi, after he was redeployed from the senior team, Harambee Stars.

Mid this week, the Rising Stars stepped up preparations for the qualifier against Rwanda with a 2-0 win over Kenya Premier League leaders Gor Mahia.

Sydney Lokale and Richard Odanda were on target for the Rising Stars in the friendly match played on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Camp Toyoyo.

Should Kenya edge past Rwanda, a two-legged fixture against Zambia will be in line for the Rising Stars in the second round.

Football Kenya Federation has announced that fans will watch the Kenya vs Rwanda qualifier match free of charge.

“FKF remains committed to developing all aspects of the game. In this perspective, we have decided to let fans watch the match for free in our endeavour to promote the sport to the Kenyan populace,” said FKF CEO Robert Muthomi said earlier in the week.
