The country is set to host The Second Africa Climate Smart Agriculture [CSA] Alliance meeting set for Tuesday to Thursday.
The meeting is set to be continental as all the 54 African nations are expected to send in their representatives, and will be held in Nairobi.
According to the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Cabinet Secretary, the event, which will operate under the theme 'From agreement to action' will be used by the nations as a golden chance to use agriculture to improve livelihoods and food security.
Also, the event will allow for the representatives to chat ways on how agricultural practices in the continent can be improved for better yields in terms of technology and collaborations.
It will also give a platform for the nations, private entities and civil society groups to chat on their experiences and the latest agricultural developments.
The delegates will therefore be able to spot those with a similar interest for possible collaborations.
“The Forum is organized essentially to encourage optimal dialogue, debates and exchange by all the participants. Effort is made to ensure the discussions are based on and supported by field experiences involving public, private and civil society interactions,” read a report from the CSA.
This will be the second meeting and the first one to be held in East Africa, as the first one was held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia in May 2014 and is sponsored by the International Fund for Agricultural Development, German Cooperation and the Food and Agriculture Cooperation among others.
