Kenya will be hosting the 18th conference of water and sanitation next month.
The conference, which brings all countries in Africa, is set to take place at the Kenyatta International Conventional Centre (KICC).
The African Water Association (AFWA) will be held from April 22 to 25 with more than 1500 people attending it. The members are from the 40 AFWA member countries.
Cabinet secretary in charge of water and irrigation, Eugene Wamalwa said the country is well prepared to host the conference.
Wamalwa revealed that the country stands at a better place to benefit from hosting the conference. He said the country will not only gain knowledge but will also increase economy through the tourists who will want to visit some places before or after the conference. He promised to use the opportunity to look for long term water and sanitation problems solutions being witnessed in the country. This is because, other African countries will be discussing on how to gain water accessibility and good sanitation to bring to an end the sanitation problems in Africa.
He revealed that the event will be themed Sustainable Access to Water and Sanitation in Africa.
