The upcoming elections involving non-teaching staff at the university attracted many candidates who eye various positions in the union.

The union was established to champion non-teaching university staff's grievances and focus on their welfare.

Each candidate came up with a manifesto that would attract electorates to vote for them.

The outgoing chairperson of the union who is also vying for the second term, Stephen Euppa, was optimistic that he will win over his opponents.

"During my tenure, I have held a focused leadership in terms of fair selection of staff and staff training in service delivery," said Euppa.

Josphat Lokorio, who is also eyeing for chairperson position, pledged to review medical cover and promotions for all cadres.

"If elected, I will review medical cover for all cadres of staff grades 1-17 and also ensure fair promotions of all staff in the university," said Lokorio.
