Paul Lonyangata defended his Paris half marathon title in a tactical race as Betsy Saina won her debutant marathon in style on Sunday in Paris, Capital city of France.
The Kenyan duo showed prowess as West Pokot based runner Lonyangata outrun his compatriot Mathew Kisorio, who was leading the better part of the race.
American based Betsy Saina won the women’s event at the first asking, this being her first major marathon after shifting from the tracks.
Lonyangata passed Betsy Saina, the women’s winner as they led an all podium finish for Kenyan runners.
Lonyangata finished in 2:6.21 as Saina won her race in 2:22:56. Last year Lonyangata won the men’s title.
Meanwhile, in Rotterdam marathon, Kenyan runners dominated on Sunday as Kenneth Kipkemboi won men's title while Paris marathon champion Visiline Jepkesho won the women's title.
