Kenyan Ohangla star Lady Maureen has been released in Tanzania after being arrested and jailed for being in the East African country without valid travel documents.
Maureen was freed after local radio station Ramogi FM paid paid the Sh35,000 Tanzanian authorities demand for her to be released.
Her crew members were also arrested and slapped with a Sh35,000 bail demand to secure their release.
Maureen after being freed accused her Tanzanian promoter who she identified as Liz as the key person behind their troubles.
She said Liz collected their passports for signing by Tanzania Immigration officials but failed to go through the required legal procedure as she wanted to evade tax.
Maureen said she performed for two days, on April 1 and 2 and were in their hotel rooms resting when police came and arrested them and took them to the police station.
"I thought it was the end of my music carrier because the band had already been slapped with one year jail term," she told Ramogi FM as quoted by Radio Jambo.
"We were being woken up every day at 4am like any other prisoner to do casual work; my worst experience as a musician."
Six of her band members are still in jail.
Maureen criticised Kenyan politicians who she said she had performed for some of them but non came to her rescue when she needed them the most.
