Kenyan police have sought assistance from Interpol to arrest a Nyeri MCA who allegedly attacked his colleague at Arusha, Tanzania, reports the Standard.
Magutu ward MCA Pauline Wanjira, who was in company of 17 others, was allegedly attacked by a colleague in the training session and has since returned to the country for medication.
Nyeri Speaker John Kaguchia has separately constituted a powers and privileges committee which is looking unto the matter.
"It is a very serious issue and we intend to take up the matter through powers and privileges committee to deal with the member responsible," he said.
According to Ms Wanjira, she had just finished the training session before the accused poured a drink on her and subsequently hitting her with an empty bottle.
"We had just finished training and he came, accused me of promiscuity. He attacked me with an empty bottle before raining me on kicks," she said.
She was reportedly rescued by her colleagues who have since launched shuttle diplomacy to have her drop the charges. She has since reported the matter at Parklands Police.
The MCA accused of the assault has since denied that he traveled to Arusha but the county speaker has since confirmed that he was part of the team.
" I have no idea what you are talking about. I was not in Arusha and this is just an attempt to soil my name," he protested.
