Sofapaka head coach Sam Ssimbwa has claimed that a section of Kenyan referees are involved in gambling.
This is after his team conceeded a late penalty in a match against Bandari on Monday.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Bandari was awarded an 88th minute penalty when Anthony Wambani went down in the box.
" How do you explain a circumstance where a referee gives a penalty in a situation where there is absolutely no contact?. Some of these referees place bets on these matches, that's the only explanation for what I witnessed against Bandari, refs should always be neutral and not make decisions that favor some teams," Ssimbwa is quoted by futaa.com.
Sofapaka are currently holding the third position in KPL table.
