Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will next week conduct Physical Endurance Tests (PET) for referees ahead of the 2018 season football calendar.Most of the football activities in the country among them Kenya Premier League matches will commence next month.Next week’s tests which will be the first of four this year will be held at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani, Nairobi, for seven consecutive days, starting Monday, January 22, 2018, to Sunday, January 28, 2018.“FIFA and CAF through FKF intend to undertake the PET’s quarterly so as to regularly take our referees through modifications to the laws of the game,” FKF Referees Manager Sylvester Kirwa said as quoted by footballkenya.org.Kirwa said the event shall feature theory sessions in class, group discussions and fieldwork.He said referees positioning, the handball rule, tactical fouls, penalty area incidents, the offside rule and match reporting are among topics for discussion during the PET sessions.“We are also aiming at integrating technique and practice. We need to have referees who are not only physically fit but are also up to speed with the laws of the game,” added Kirwa.The exercise will feature all Kenya Premier League (KPL), National Super League (NSL) and Division One referees and match commissioners.
