This is after Kenyan representatives Kenya Prisons and Kenya Pipeline got the going tough at the tournament’s semifinal stage on Tuesday.

Defending champions, Carthage of Tunisia and hosts Ahly of Egypt will now battle for the honors of the 2018 African women’s club championship on Thursday after both teams won their corresponding semifinal contests against Kenyan representatives.

Carthage of Tunisia beat Kenya Prisons to qualify for the final. The Tunisians won the match 25-15, 22-25, 25-23 and 25-21, while Al Ahly of Egypt registered an identical 3-1 win over Kenya Pipeline in the second semifinal match.

The Egyptians launched a passionate comeback to record a win 22-25, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-8 against Kenya Pipeline.

There was hope of Kenyan teams meeting in the final on Thursday, but they will now square it out in the third and fourth playoff.

Kenya Pipeline under head coach Japheth Munala had on Monday qualified for the semi-final via a 3-2 win over Bafia of Cameroon, while David Lung’aho’s Kenya Prisons booked a semi-final slot after defeating Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) 3-0.
