Kariobangi Sharks and Kenyan international Masoud Juma has turned down bids from Europe and Egypt and joined South African Premier League side Cape Town City FC.

The club confirmed through its social media pages that a deal has been agreed with Kariobangi Sharks and the player will receive his work permit this week.

“Cape Town City is delighted to announce the acquisition of 21 year old Kenyan international striker, and African top goalscorer of the year - Masoud Juma.”

“…Juma will receive his work permit this week and fly to Cape Town on JAN8 where he will meet his new teammates and begin preparing for CTCFC's domestic and CAF campaigns,” the post partly read.

Cape Town City coach McCarthy hailed the attacker saying he will help solve his side's scoring problem as the team has had to rely on midfielders for goals.

“At just 21, Juma has proven to be Africa's most prolific goal scorer. His quality is evident, as is the interest for him in Europe. He is still young and needs to be nurtured. But once he adapts and settles in, he has all the makings of a lethal out and out nine. We've had to rely on our possession dominance to win games. Most of our goals come from midfielders.” McCarthy said.

The prolific striker grabbed the golden boot in the 2017 Sportpesa premier league after scoring a total of seventeen goals.

He has previously featured for Kisii-based Shabana, Mombasa-based Bandari and SoNy Sugar in the Kenyan Premier League.
