The reigning Kenya Premier League (KPL) golden boot holder John Mark Makwata has secured a deal to join Slovakian side Nirva Fc.

Makwata has had a good stint with Ulinzi Stars after emerging the club's top scorer for the last two consecutive seasons.

Ulinzi Stars Chairman Lt. Col. Erick Oloo confirmed the deal and added that the entire Ulinzi fraternity is happy for him to succeed in his career as a professional footballer.

"We will not be with Makwata moving forward. He informed us of an opportunity that came up and as a team, we cannot block his progress. We are happy for his achievement and are praying for him to succeed," Oloo wrote on the club's website.

Oloo described Makwata as a diligent servant of the team who has played a major role in their progress.

He led the striking front for the Sportpesa All Stars in the friendly match against EPL side Hull City played last month at the KCOM Stadium, Hull.
