The March 9 surprise event aroused many expectations among Kenyans, with the results of its main national cohesion mission, however, yet to be fully felt.

Speaking on Radio Citizen's 'Debe La Citizen' Sunday, the ex-lawmaker accused Kenyans of overanalyzing the reconciliation pact, urging them to stop interfering and give room for the leaders to realize their vision for the nation.

"Wenyewe wamesema handshake ilikua ya kuunganisha wakenya na sio siasa lakini Wakenya wenyewe ndio wameitafsiri vingine na sasa wanaleta mambo ya referendum ambayo hata hayako (they have clearly noted that its all about national unity but Kenyans are sabotaging their efforts by raising political issues)," he said.

He also took a swipe at leaders who have since lamented over their exclusion from the meeting, especially a section of Odinga's National Super Alliance (NASA) leadership, advising them to embrace the reconciliation anyway.

According to the leader, the team should join the national unity pursuit by reaching out to their political antagonists as the first step.

"Viongozi wasilalamike mbona hawakujumuishwa bali waendeleze matakwa ya handshake kwa kuungana na mahasimu wao wa kisiasa (leaders who were excluded should not lament but join the move by reaching out to their rivals in line with the bid)," he added.
