Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Timothy Bosire has said that Kenyans should not blame all Members of Parliament for corruption committed by a few individuals. Speaking to HiviSasa.com, the legislator said that MPs named in corrupt deals should bear responsibility and clear their names without implicating innocent members and also called on the media to stop broadcasting stories linking other MPs. “The media must equally desist from broadcasts and publications stories linking MPs to graft without giving any concrete evidence of the allegations,” he said. Bosire said that the generalisation of corruption is dangerous and likely to incite the public against their leaders and said that Parliament must also clear the tags of corruption and theft hovering on the heads of some of the legislators. He said the relevant authorities and the independent commissions must deal firmly with MPs found guilty of corruption to end the vice. “Parliament must be respected by all Kenyans. Therefore, the public, media and MPs themselves must ensure the House remains clean and free of corruption,” said Bosire. He added that dishonest legislators must be dealt with in accordance with the law and called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to remain steadfast and vibrant in fighting corruption in the country.
