The boy is said to have been killed by a stray bullet fired by the police. [Photo/Star]Kenyans on social media are an angry lot, following the shooting and killing of a seven-year-old boy in Pipeline estate. The Tuesday morning incident claimed the death of the young boy, who was playing outside their house in the estate, found along Outering Road. This happened as police battled protesters who were on their way to Embakasi’s Jacaranda estate. The residents blocked the police from collecting the body of the slain boy, instead, keeping him in the house till late.Eyewitnesses claim the boy was shot by one of the officers who were riding on motorcycles and shooting aimlessly.Kenyans on social media have condemned the act, and are calling for quick action from the police bosses.Again I ask...why are the Kenya Police using live bullets? said one Facebook user.‪Will you wait until your own child is killed to speak out against the police shooting dead innocent citizens? said Larry Madowo of NTV.This is not the first time such an innocent life has been lost, with six-month-old Baby Pendo having died at the hands of the police after the August elections. Another young girl was killed in Mathare estate during demonstrations immediately after the elections, leaving more questions than answers on who should be responsible for such cases.
