Former Permanent Secretary and 2013 presidential aspirant, Professor James Ole Kiyapi has accused Kenyans of being tribal and easily swayed by politicians.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citizen Tv on Sunday, Kiyapi said he knew the presidential fate was sealed after Kenyans resorted to tribesmen for political support.
"Kenyas are far much from democracy. They elect leaders who speak in their tongues. I knew that I will lose because my competitors had a lot of money to give to their supporters when I had none. This is a great challenge that we need to focus on," said Professor Kiyapi.
Kiyapi, who garnered 43696 votes, now teaches at the University of Eldoret.
"I did what I was supposed to do when I was the Permanent Secretary in the Education Ministry. I cannot go back to PS, maybe cabinet secretary," added the Professor.
He said Jubilee has achieved though not to the expectations saying the ICC challenge affected the leadership of President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
"I can give Jubilee 42%. They spent their first years to deal with the ICC challenge but they have tried," said Ole Kiyapi.
