A Jubilee Party MP has come out to defend President Uhuru Kenyatta over allegations that he is intending to 'destroy' the Supreme Court.

The President has recently come under heavy criticism from the Opposition leaders who have accused him of intimidating and rebuking the top court after it overturned his re-election in the August 8 poll.

Angered by the Supreme Court's nullification of the election outcome, Uhuru hit out at judges referring to them as 'crooks' (wakora) moments after they delivered their judgement on September 1.

But speaking during Sidebar Show on NTV, Wednesday night, Murang'a Women Representative Sabina Chege urged Kenyans to forgive the President saying being 'denied' victory after an election is a very sad moment.

"He (Uhuru) is not an angel but a human being like all of us. We all make mistakes at times. He was affected by the decision. Let's pray for him," said Sabina.

Speaking early this week during a campaign rally in Kajiado County, Uhuru explained that the court's ruling left him a furious person.

"I am angry because I was wronged. They wrongfully overturned my victory. We should tell the truth," the President lamented.
