Small and Medium sized Enterprises Expo is an annual Expo normally held in Kenya at Kenyatta International Convention Centre.
It is a platform intended to support and promote the small, medium and mostly upcoming businesses and entrepreneurs so that buyers can meet potential sellers as well as sellers meet their potential customers.
This year the Expo was held on April 7 to 9, 2016. However, it was not very well graced by the public since the turnout was a bit lower compared to the other years.
“Indeed this year’s Expo has not received the response it always gets from the public.
I don’t know why but personally I always make sure I visit every Expo because I get to learn a lot of things that is business related,” said Dorothy Omollo who is a 30-year-old agribusiness entrepreneur.
She also encourages other upcoming entrepreneurs and especially youths to be visiting such Expos stating that it is a forum where one meets potential clients easily and gets to learn more about business and entrepreneurship.
Some of the exhibitors too were happy with the event and despite the fact that the occasion was not graced as expected, they still afforded a smile.
Larry Koduk, who is the Managing Director, at Cleaning services said the expo had helped him get many potential clients and also enabled his company to get direct feedback from their customers since they got the opportunity to interact with them one on one.
“I encourage other business people especially the small ones not to ignore such opportunities since it helps them advertise their businesses and also get feedback from their customers whom they would have otherwise not have met them,” Koduk stating that they have been in the market for 16 years but he would never want to miss any Expo even in the future.
Not only that but also the students and other people who attended the seminar were inspired by motivational speakers who urged them to be vigilant, positive and patient so as to achieve their dreams and goals in the business world.
Among other inspirational speakers were Joshua Obengele who has 11 years of experience in risk Management, worked as a Senior credit Manager at CFC Stanbic Bank and other senior managerial positions at Barclays Bank and other Corporate and Financial institutions.
