Many say they have not seen any change to the previous budget and urged the government to focus on key sectors such as agriculture, education, and health. Some say they were not given a chance to voice their opinions about their expectations for this year's budget; many were unaware of the whole budgetary process.

Retail traders have urged the government to reduce tax in the port of Mombasa for the ordinary citizen to get commodities at a cheaper price. They also want the IEBC stalemate to be resolved fast since the demos are negatively affecting businesses.

Kenyans also want the government to come up with ways of reducing recurrent expenditure, one way being reducing the number of government departments.

The CS for the National Treasury, Henry Rotich is expected to deliver the national budget statement at the National Assembly on Wednesday at 3.00pm.

All other East Africa community nations will also deliver their budget on Wednesday.

The Government proposes to spend Sh2.2 trillion, majority of which will go to recurrent expenditure.
