Kanu chairman and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has said Kenyans are dissatisfied with the Jubilee Party.
Moi made the remarks Friday when he received Jubilee nominated Senator Paul Njoroge to Kanu following his defection to the former ruling party, the Star reports.
According to Moi, Njoroge's defection was a manifestation of that Kenyans are dissatisfied with the President Uhuru-led party.
"We in Kanu welcome the senator back home. The party is a safe place for everyone," Moi said, adding that the party is still open to receive more defectors.
"We are happy to receive one of our own who had gone wandering. It only shows that most Jubilee Party members are not happy.”
He maintained that Kanu will continue strengthening itself ahead of the 2017 elections in efforts to bargain for power.
He, howere was quick to add that the former ruling party will continue working with the Jubilee coalition until their end of term in 2017.
"After the said period, the delegates will decide on its fate," Moi said.
Njoroge, who is eyeing the Nakuru County govership, defected to Kanu on Wednesday citing shambolic election of Jubilee Party officials in Nakuru.
Moi who spoke after a graduation ceremony at Kabarak University, was accompanied by his West Pokot counterpart, John Lonyangapuo.
