A section of Kenyans on social media have criticised members of Parliament over a motion seeking to control betting and gambling.
Kenyans believes that betting is like forex trading which involves risks and if managed well, someone can make good money out of it.
“How is betting now being an issue? I personally pay most of my bills through betting, it's a good thing because it's very transparent. Okay, will Parliament pay my bills once they stop betting? Midiwo and Duale mwache upuzi. kama mlibet mkakulwa, pelekeni feelings mbali,” said Okoth Noel on Group Kenya Facebook page on Thursday.
“Betting not bother these legislators, betting have created millionaires country wide, but parliament itself creates millionaires within.Nobody is coerced to bet, they do it at will.Majority of the betting class cannot afford casinos like MPs and the elites.Leave the betting fraternity alone! Mliwakazia booze they had no option but to find solace elsewhere that is betting leave them alone!” added Ngugi Patrick.
They instead advised MPs to concentrate on efforts of ending corruption in Kenya and leave Kenyan hustlers alone.
