Alliance for Real Change (ARC) flag-bearer Abduba Dida has reached out to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct credible elections to restore hope in Kenyans.
Speaking in Nairobi on Monday, Dida said the commission has been mandated by Kenyans to carry out the exercise in fairness and that should they do otherwise, the country will be plunged in disillusion and lawlessness.
“Kenyans have lost confidence in themselves and government institutions," he said.
"I hope Kenyans will love you most [Chebukati] in August after you announce credible results,” he added.
This was when he presented his papers and got clearance by the IEBC.
Others who received the go-ahead after presenting their nomination papers yesterday included Ekuru Aukot (of ThirdWay Alliance Kenya) and Justus Juma (Justice and Freedom Party).
Presidential aspirants Cyrus Jirongo Shakhalaga of United Democratic Party (UDP), and Independents Joseph Nyagah and Michael Wainaina are set to present their nomination papers for clearance on Tuesday.
