The High Court breathed relief to Kenyans who had not registered as voters, after it extended the exercise by two days.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had warned that it would not extend the one month exercise which kicked off January 16 and was to end February 16, 2017.

The exercise was extended after human rights Activist Okiya Omtahtah moved to Court, arguing that it was unconstitutional for the IEBC to end the exercise, February 14.

Long ques were experienced at most of the voter registration centres on the earlier planned date, as Kenyans rushed at the last minute.

Kenyans are usually known for the last minute rush, each time there is a national activity, requiring them to do something.

The exercise now ends February 16, 2017.
