Kenyans were left gutted on Monday evening, after Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential running mate William Ruto and his Nasa counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka failed to show up for a debate that was organized for the running mates to articulate their plans for the country.
In what many Kenyans on social media termed as ‘ignorance’, only one participant attended the much anticipated debate.
Kenyans took to social media to vent their frustrations, with many saying they will boycott on the Election Day just to teach them a lesson.
Ruto and Musyoka were particularly attacked, owing to the huge following they command by being the top two frontrunners in this year’s elections.
“The Running mates debate for Ruto and Kalonzo failed to take place coz the duo haven't internalized and understood their manifesto in details. Maybe we can blame their intellectual incapacity and shoddy preparations. Winners are never quitters”.

“Not honouring the debate is an insult to the electorates. But unfortunately we vote on tribal lines so it won't be a big deal to a majority.”
