In an interview on Radio Sauti ya Mwananchi Saturday, the former Subukia MP President Uhuru Kenyatta led-government has failed to address national shortcomings including corruption.

He said the state has not demonstrated inability to eradicate poverty and tribalism throughout its stay in power, doubting the possibility of the government making any changes within the remaining short time.

Koigi said the nation needs a new government for it to make any remarkable achievement.

"Kenya needs a new government if we are to successfully combat corruption, tribalism and other existing national challenges," he said.

He also said Kenyans are slightly to blame for the situation for facilitating the Uhuruto duo's reelection.

According to the outspoken leader, the nation should have sent the administration home in the last poll, judging by its bad performance in its first term.

"Kenyans have themselves to blame for reelecting an incapable team to lead this nation. Judging by its poor performance in its first term, they should have kicked it out in last year's elections," he added.
