Rights activist Boniface Mwangi has said that his new Ukweli Party will fight to liberate Kenyans.

Mwangi said that the common Mwananchi is still bound in the chains of corruption and as such, the country cannot claim to have attained independence with masses still suffering.

He said Ukweli will pursue issues around social services, security and public safety, the economy,  and good governance for the citizens.

“We cannot say we have freedom when Kenyans still suffer domination, exploitation and oppression from national and international forces,” he said.

Mwangi added that their party's name carries with it great expectations and said they will deliver because his team embodies people from all walks of life.

"Our name bears great responsibility and expectations from each one of us," he noted. "It is a call to action from all Kenyans from all walks of life, religions, tribes, social strata and gender to take a liberating path of speaking truth to power."
