A section of Nakuru residents have expressed optimism in the appointment of a new Inspector -General of police, Joseph Boinnett and called on him to act ruthlessly to those agitating national stability.
Speaking on Thursday in Nakuru Town, residents welcomed Boinnett at the helm of police force and urged him to mobilise all police mechanism to protect Kenyans from agitators .
James Karuga, a butcher at Nakuru Town says he expect the new IG to work hard and protect Kenyans.
“Kenyans expect a lot from the new IG. He must be ready to work for them,” said Karuga.
Boinnett takes the helm of security docket after former security boss David Kimayo resigned last year amid series of insecurities attacks in the country .
James Mwangi, a long distance driver, says he expect Boinnett to initiate reforms in police force to protect Kenyans from terrorists .
“Boinnett should reform the police force to be able to deal with deteriorating insecurities in the country “, said Mwangi.
Currently insecurity is the major challenge facing Kenya, hence affecting development.
