Moments after President Uhuru Kenyatta named former Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko in his new cabinet, Kenyans have flooded social media to air out their views.
Most of those responding were dissatisfied with the appointment and took a swipe at the president for 'rewarding mediocrity'.
"Oh wow, Keriako Tobiko now is a CS. Ole Kaparo may as well be promoted for the wonderful job he is doing. President Uhuru Kenyatta. Well done," Ivy Mboya said.
"In Kenya.. Just resign from your job for being shit at it then get promoted to CS. Kenya the land of many opportunities, like Keriako Tobiko," she added.
Keriako Tobiko has miserably failed as the Director of Public Prosecution. Selective amnesia has defined his leadership at ODPP. How does he deserve a Cabinet position promotion, having failed to nail multi-billion shilling cases under his watch?" said Saddique Shaban.
"Kenyans can reject Names forwarded by Uhuru Today if Parliament approves? Because seriously... James Macharia and Keriako Tobiko. As a Kenyan, I am saying No!" Martin Mwangi protested.
"If President Kenyatta is rewarding incompetence in the Appointment of new Cabinet Secretaries, then James Macharia and Keriako Tobiko are the most qualified," Frank Nzai lamented.
"Uhuru Kenyatta rewards Keriako Tobiko rewarded for his incompetence and tactful handling of corruption cases that touch Uhuru & his friends/Family," said Karani Onsomu.
