The dreams of Deputy President William to become the 5th Head of State were dealt a big blow on Tuesday after the Kikuyu council of elders led by their national secretary general Mr Peter Munga said the son of Sugoi should retire with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to the elders, Ruto should be satisfied with the 10 years he served with President Uhuru Kenyatta since there is nothing new he will be bringing on the table.

"As a Council, we are very serious that he [Ruto] has to pack with Uhuru. If Uhuru has to leave in 2022, the deputy should follow suit.”

However, the suggestion of the elders has been received with mixed reactions from Kenyans who took to social media to voice their opinions regarding the controversial political development.

A few weeks ago, kalenjin MPs challenged the president to categorically state whether he will support the DP Ruto in 2022&today in the star newspaper, kikuyu Council of elders have the answer.
