Kenyans have harshly reacted, following the resignation of Maseno School's Board of Management.

Led by chairman Eng Carey Orege and PTA chairman Dr James Obondi, the officials told the press that they reached the decision, following consultations with fellow Board members.

They cited the interdiction of the school's principal Paul Otula, over sodomy claims, saying they were never consulted before the decision was made.

According to them, they had held talks with relevant stakeholders over the claims, that have tainted the Kisumu-based school's good name, and had no way out.

They accused the Ministry of locking them out of the school's management issue, as if they had no role in ensuring the school was properly managed.

However, barely an hour after the Board stepped down, Kenyans on social media attacked both Board members and the Jubilee government of playing centre stage, in bringing down the school.

On Twitter, @Kamlepeter04 said: "Destroying and betraying the mighty MASENO SCHOOL in the name of solidarity.''

''@FredMatiangi let that sodomy board of management at Maseno School that has resigned go to hell I am ready to serve if offered a chance,'' said @BarasaJoseph.

''Some forces in this failed govt want to ensure Maseno School, the pride of Nyanza is crippled. When you go low,we go high,'' lamented @awozejawa.

''Maseno school board should have been disbanded if they did not resign,'' added @muraya_chris.

@MuthuiMkenya supported the decision, saying: "Let them resign these guys have been siphoning Maseno school accounts, the school doesn't even have a fence.''

The institution now faces management crisis.
