The  ODM legislator argued that there is no reason why the court should deny the suspects bail.

“I’m Sorry! I cannot celebrate abrogation of hard-fought Constitutional Guarantees. There can be no rational reason for blanket denial of bail before culpability of SUSPECTS! This Blind Cheerleading is dangerous,” Otiende's Twitter post read.

Other lawyers who echoed similar sentiments are Nelson Havi and  Ahmednasir Abdullahi.The two also took to their social media handles to support the bail for the suspects.They argued that right to bail was both basic and constitutional.

Here are a sample of reactions on Twitter;

@wisemen Denial of bail will render many lawyers jobless.

@machetevga I thought you learnt something from @MigunaMiguna issue. Personally am happy that today the law did what should be done. Infact this people don’t deserve even court hearings. They should be convicted on arrests.

@Bungzk The right to bail is conditional and not absolute. Stop threatening the JUDICIARY

@cuzohkm Somebody convinced the court that they should remain behind bars. It was the responsibility of the defence team to justify how granting suspected bail will not hinder investigations and also how they won't be a threat to the "National Security"
