Social media users could not stop talking about Raila Odinga, after photos of him, surfaced, while in Jerusalem, Israel.
The Nasa presidential candidate and Opposition leader, had said he was like the biblical Joshua, who wants to take Kenyans to Canaan, from Israel, through the August 8, elections.
As he traveled to Jerusalem in Israel, over the weekend, for an address on Democracy, Religion and Peace in Africa, Raila visited the historic Western Wall.
The Western Wall is the pulpit of the Temple Of Solomon and is said to have been built over 5000 years ago.
''This site is sacred to all three Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Islam and Christianity and to me it is a very strong symbolism of strength and unity. The story goes that you write your wish on a piece of paper, stick it on the wall and say a prayer and the message goes directly to God,'' he said.
He also shared photos of him at the wall, Wednesday, a move that solicited mixed reactions, on Facebook.
Below are some of the reactions:
Am sorry baba... what am 100 percent sure is that basing on the tribal angle we Kenyans vote on.. uhuruto have the numbers to beat you hands down... they only have to ensure there is maximum voter turnout in their strongholds... you made matter worse by being the ANASA flagbearer because we the sons and daughters from the hill will wake up very early in the morning not to vote for Uhuruto BUT to vote against Raila.. Stop Jerusalem and Jericho comedies
I love your resilience baba, but remember it's God who remove and replaces kings and leaders. Humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up in due time. Respect the current leadership for they are in power by God's will by so doing, you honor God. When u come to power God will food security and easing the burden of mwananchi should be ur first priority, empower the farmers and ensure the country is well fed with surplus to export. Open ur ears to the cries of the poor and ensure that justice prevail and surely God will bless you
Thanks to God, let Him (Jesus work on you) , let His mercies be upon you, that He may direct your footsteps, God is a God of second chances to all, and hears all our prayers
Pray for us baba.Pray also for price of unga n sugar to come down. Please remember to pray for one Duale to always think before opening his mouth.Lastly pray for SIGH,he's so arrogant these days!
Israel is a great place to visit it remind me of Yehuda Bauer, an Israeli historian and scholar of the Holocaust,"The Legacy of the Holocaust." He quoted "Thou shalt not be a victim, thou shalt not be a perpetrator, but, above all, thou shalt not be a bystander.".Our Kenyan leaders must Rise and make this country great,we are lagging behind Rwanda in terms of GDP.
just comedy.... at maombi inaenda straight kwa Mungu ukistick papers kwa wall,,, wu cheated you Mungu uskia maombi ya such high degree of hypocrisy. tena Jerusalem.. Woe unto you
I don't vote tribes. I don't vote political parties, nor do I vote personalities. If I did, I would be busy chanting "Üthamaki" songs while facing Mt.Kirinyaga. I have observed the political climate in this country and I personally believe RAO, if given the chance can be a cure to our ailing nation. Yes am from Üthamaki region and I will vote the Son of Oginga come August 8th. We should vote leaders for their capabilities but not because they belong to our tribes. Mbele iko sawa na Joshua!!
Fast i congratulate u our tight honourable Raila Amolo Odinga for representing us there but how i wish is that one day u organise for asection of people to go n pray for our country.but its time for change nothing else we want leaders of action like how Abraham ruled those days ,let us think for our future let us forget today koz today has gone n tomorrow will come vote for (baba)n that one is a symbol of ruling kenya
Raila Odinga the sacrifice you have made for Kenya cannot be over emphasised. Many may not talk about it but they enjoy the freedoms you fought for. Even if man doesn't hear may God hear your prayer.
This is one guy who never trash Kenya and Kenyans irregardless of how some treat him. A true patriot. Former president Moi said 'Kazi ya raisi si kazi ya mchezo, lazima uwe baba ya kila mtu, hata wale watukutu, yote, wewe ni baba yao...' Mheshimiwa RAO, i have a feeling you have everything it takes to be a President. Just keep your focus...
Godbls you. Mungu mbele. What is wrong with Hon Raila Amolo Odinga going before God.? Why too much hatred and negative energy. You may Not Like Him but on Religious matters be Positive or remain mute .. It's quite ironical that same people who are Christians are the samr one leading in the negative energy. People should be abit sober on this. God bless Kenya.
You knew the wall before. Why haven't you been president? Make a wish and win this week's JP to confirm in advance. You will never be president.
