Opposition leader Raila Odinga evoked mixed feelings from NASA supporters after he said he was not ready to be sworn in as the president on Tuesday.Raila said on Saturday that being sworn in was against the law and that it would ruin his international image. He, however, said he was not ready to recognise Uhuru Kenyatta as president.Raila’s supporters from across the country had anticipated a swearing-in ceremony for him on Tuesday, November 28, after Siaya Senator James Orengo vowed NASA would do so if Uhuru Kenyatta was declared president after the October 26 repeat election. In a meeting on Saturday in Machakos County, NASA leaders led by co-principal Musalia Mudavadi promised supporters that they will take legal measures to determine the next course of action.Raila’s move was received both with reprimand as supporters accused Raila of betraying them. Here are some of their responses.“Let's not be nice to these nemeses. Wakiapisha tunaapisha!" Dzivula Mautuh Gube,” posted.“Supporters are getting tired of NASA leadership. The top guns are just cowards. Your followers cannot be killed on the streets like dogs and the only message you pass across are a few quotes from the Constitution and let things slide,” Bojack horseman posted.“Forget newspaper headlines. Forget so-called sources close to Baba. Forget government propaganda through sections of the media. Forget any diversionary tactics by Jubilee and their agencies. The resolve by the people that Kenya is one… Baba must be president,” Philip Etale said.“Very true, Raila must stop these jokes. Get a judge and swear in. Raila has been good for a long time, democracy my foot. If Raila won’t swear in we will be orphans forever. He should stop these statesmanship things, Jubilee doesn't understand that,” Migwa Stephen wrote.
