Kenyan gospel artist Jimmy gait has been a victim of cyberbullying for a long time. In June 2016 when he released the song 'Yesu ndiye sponsor' , he was faced with various negative reactions from people. Kenyans took on social media to attack him and even forming mock titles whenever something happened such like 'Kwa Yesu hakuna black out'.
The singer was hurt to the point of shading tears in an interview with the trend while revealing how the trolls he was receiving were really tearing him apart. This, however, didn't stop the streaming in of negative comments. Some went on further to tell him that 'Yesu ndiye handkerchief'.
Jimmy Gait reveals how he went into a two-week depression to the point that he couldn't even eat or get out of the house.
In late May this year, he launched his Hisiah campaign with the aim of informing people that there is another person at the end of your comment. His main objective is to prevent further victims of cyberbullying. Not everyone is taking this initiative positively. People are still trickling negative comments on his Hisiah Campaign Ke page on tweeter such as 'Kwa Yesu hakuna depression'. Nevertheless, some are taking this campaign seriously and looking to reform and refrain from trolling.
