NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua’s petition against the August triumph by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has been knocked out.

Kerugoya High Court threw out Karua’s case on the grounds that it failed to comply with the election petition rules.

Lady Justice Lucy Gitari described the petition as “hopeless, defective and incurable.”

Karua, a former Justice minister has refused to accept the latest verdict branding it foul play.

She has vowed to appeal the decision.

Through her lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, Karua filed a petition on 5 November at the Kerugoya High Court arguing Governor Waiguru’s win was not free and fair.

The former Gichugu MP said evidence in her possession showed that 58,000 votes were illegally entered into IEBC's KEIMS to aid Governor Waiguru's win.

Governor Waiguru was declared winner after garnering 159,606 votes against Karua's 120,341.
