Various counties experienced low voter turnout in Thursday’s repeat presidential election compared to the August 8 poll.

In some constituencies across the country, only a few people could be seen in the queues that in August stretched to residential areas.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga called for an election boycott urging his supporters to stay at home.

Kenyans took to social media to share their views on the low voter turnout that saw some polling officials sleep as they wait for voters to turn up.

Here are some of their reactions:

@Donsarigo Low Turnout? Eti because voters are only voting for one candidate, the process is fast even for Tv cameras to capture them voting!

@PRINCEKENYA3 Just keep on saying Low voters turnout wacha IEBC waanze kuonyesha statistics kwa portal. Utashangaa 15 M people wamepiga kura. #kenyapoll

@Ochizzi So we used 12 BILLION shillings just to ENSURE that Uhuru got ONE VOTE per constituency???

@denotundo The jounalists in this polling station @DrAlfredMutua ‘S PR didn’t work this time #ElectionsBoycottKE #kenyapoll
