There are different accounts to what happened in Eastleigh.
In case you have been living under a rock, a shocking video has been doing the rounds on social media where a police officer is seen shooting a suspected gang member at close range, killing him instantly.
The evidently young man was recorded begging for his life, as it was evident his fate would be similar to that of his acquaintance who was lying face down on the tarmac, in a pool of his own blood, dead.
No official sources have confirmed that the executioner is a police officer.
Kenyans have reacted differently to the video. Human rights activists are calling for a probe into the matter. The Law Society of Kenya is up in arms, but some Kenyans are saying the suspects got what was coming to them.
Twitter user DJ Soxxy wrote, "While we talk about the Eastleigh shooting, how many have ever been robbed at gunpoint?"
Another user added, "those blaming the police for shooting thugs at Eastleigh have never been robbed by the merciless thugs and don't know the pain!"
Omomdi3 however questioned whether police officers have better training. "Where is due process in this matter?" he quipped.
Kenyans are divided on whether the shooting was justified or not.
