[Photo| Nation]Mixed reactions were expressed online following a decision by the Acting Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has shut down the Presbyterian University of East Africa.Matiang'i's decision followed the recommendations made by the Commission for University Education (CUE) four days ago. A section of twitter users expressed their disappointment with the CS's decision noting that lives of many students will be affected. However, others supported Matiang'i. Below are some responses:@agot_bonface: Presbyterian University had 650 students and a further 27,000 students persuing the Theology Education by Extension (TEE) program whose dreams have been shuttered by the moron Matiangi. Matiangi must be STOPPED before he ruins this society.@NyoikeTj: Presbyterian University : 611M in arrears?! Staff not paid in two years!!! How do you operate like that!!@yoyocial: To all those Jubilee people with degrees fromPresbyterian University of East Africa... Tuko Pamoja.@ImbukwaMical: It is so sad that some parents sacrificed everything to see their children through school and now it turns out that they were throwing their monetary sacrifices into a deep sea. The closure of "Presbyterian University " is a blow to many.@joxhuakim: Presbyterian university closed.I support Fred Matiang'i,some of these kiosks should not be operating. Higher education is not for everyone! #pwaniuniversity should face the same@petermaoga8: So long as that peasant's innocent student inPresbyterian University is taken care of, am ok with Matiangi's action. Dates back to CUE's field study@agot_bonface: CS Matiangi has a terrible, stupid decision making skill. You tighten exam marking without improving learning to mirror the exams. Now you close Presbyterian University without first giving them strict measures/ultimatum to change. You shutter dreams.@DjOdhis: Now You know why Matiangi is the ACTING Education Cs. He just act, without thinking.Presbyterian University is an example of his 'acts'@millanouma: The same government that placed students to study at the Presbyterian University has now cancelled the license of the same Uni. Why did they send students there in the first place? Matiangi is OVERRATED!
