Residents arrived at the scene and started looting immediately they realised it was transporting wheat.

Kenyans should desist from this kind of behaviour since they usually endanger their lives.

In February 2009, an oil tanker lost control and veered off the road at Sachangwan trading centre along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

The locals wasted no time in getting jericans to loot the oil.

However, the tanker exploded killing over 100 people.

A similar incident took place at Sinai in 2011. The residents of the slum decided to help themselves from a leaking fuel pipe, when the pipe exploded killing several people.

The locals there had clearly forgotten about the Sachangwan incident and went ahead to siphon the fuel.

Mombasa residents also forgot about these fire tragedies and went ahead to loot from the locomotive.

What the locals failed to realise is that the locomotive may have exploded due to technical problems caused by the accident.

Kenyans should desist from looting from accident scenes because it poses a threat to their lives.

Anything can happen thus they should learn from these past experiences and desist from this behaviour.
